Marty joined Davis & Young in 1971 and practiced in the areas of product liability, professional liability, and insurance and personal injury litigation. Much of his work in the past decades involved asbestos product liability trials nationally in the defense of major U.S. corporations. Marty became Emeritus Counsel with the firm in 2000 and today consults with large and small companies on risk management and property and casualty insurance. In addition, he offers special expertise in toxic and mass tort litigation. He is the Future Asbestos Claim Representative in the Kaiser Aluminum Reorganization and sole Trustee of the Halliburton Silica Trust.
Marty is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. Marty has been listed in the publication "Best Lawyers in America" from 1992 to the present and he is a Life Member of the 8th District Judicial Conference.
He is past Chair of the Litigation Section of the Cleveland Bar Association, and a member of the Ohio State and American Bar Associations. Marty also serves on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Farmers Insurance Company, parent of Westfield Group.
Marty received his B.S.S. from John Carroll University and his L.L.B. from Western Reserve University School of Law.
