Marty joined Davis & Young in 1971 and practiced in the areas of product liability, medical malpractice defense, professional liability, insurance and personal injury litigation. Much of his work in the past decades involved asbestos product liability trials locally and nationally in the defense of major U.S. corporations. Marty became Emeritus Counsel with the firm in 2000. He is the Future Claims Representative of the Kaiser Aluminum Asbestos Personal Injury Trust and sole Trustee of the Halliburton Silica Personal Injury Trust.

Marty is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has been listed in the publication “Best Lawyers in America” from 1992 to present. He is a Life Member of the 8th District Judicial Conference in Ohio.

Marty is a retired Member of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Farmers Insurance Company, parent of the Westfield Insurance Company (1994 – 2010). He was a Member of the Governance & Compensation Committees during his tenure and Chair of Governance Committee during his two years before retiring per Board age limitations. Marty is presently a Member of The Harbisson Walker International Board of Directors. 

Marty received his B.S.S. from John Carroll University and his L.L. B. from Western Reserve University School of Law.
